About THC Digest
Welcome to THC Digest! Hopefully you’re here because you want to know more about what’s going on and not because you found my picture when you Googled “people with atrocious faces”. Either way though, you can call me the ‘Weed Growing Gimp’ (or Gimp for short), which coincidentally comes from the fact that I’m a gimp and love growing me some dank weed.
If you’re wondering where the Gimp part comes from, it’s a nickname I’ve had most of my life. I have symptoms similar to Cerebral Palsy due to brain trauma at a young age, which affects a lot of my motor skills especially on my left side and gives me my gimpish characteristics. A lot of people might consider ‘Gimp’ extremely derogatory considering my condition, but the name is my own creation and it’s simply a term of descriptive identification.
Other famous (and awesome) gimps: Stephen Hawking, Tyrion Lannister

My Experience With Marijuana: A Love Story
Growing up, I was taught to shun marijuana use. I was instructed that weed was a guaranteed path to failure, an idea firmly planted in my mind through both society and family. I never stopped to make any rational investigations like “Why is alcohol legal and marijuana isn’t if alcohol kills people all the time while marijuana doesn’t?” I didn’t know how to think for myself yet. All I knew was that marijuana was a fool’s vice and that’s that.
As I made my way through college, I became a lot more tolerant and accepting of those who used weed. I still had no plans on using it myself, but I wasn’t eager to blacklist or judge people just because they hit the bong. I realized that marijuana use wasn’t evidence at all of any sort of recurring personality trait. And if there was any sort of common connection between individuals who used marijuana, it appeared to be a positive one.
When I was 26, I met a woman who would change my life (and continues to do so regularly). She is an avid marijuana user, so it was only a matter of time before she convinced me she knew what was best for me and got me high off for the first time. In the few years that have passed since losing my THC virginity, I’ve gone from knowing almost nil about cannabis to growing my own endless supply of marijuana.
It took me a while to understand what marijuana could do for me, but now it’s crystal clear that marijuana has made a substantial positive impact in the quality of my life.

The Beginning of My Mind Munchies
This site essentially started out as I began my personal project to determine what the effects of weed on people really were. I was at a point where I was smoking weed at least once a day, so I wanted to fully understand how that would genuinely influence me. Having CP also added to my concern. After all, I had been a victim of fear-mongering marijuana propaganda most of my life, so it was hard to completely dismiss that notion that I might be harming myself.
But, I try to be as objective as possible on matters that I don’t fully understand. Before I started burying myself deep into marijuana journals, I made sure not to make any premature judgments on whether marijuana would end up being a net positive or negative in my life.
I was mowing through so many articles and learning so much that I figured I’d try making a site to post that information all in one place. I figured if I was asking these types of questions then other people would probably be asking them too. Why not post what I found out somewhere and maybe help someone else find the answers they are looking for? Thus, The Effects of Weed Network was created.
After about 6 months of study, I began to notice that 80-90% of the scientific articles and published university studies I was examining were finding that marijuana was beneficial in treating various conditions. Just to name a few, some of these experiments showed marijuana helped with chronic pain, ADHD, depression, wasting syndrome, fibromyalgia, and multiple sclerosis. New studies with even more demonstrated benefits are coming out monthly, weekly, and even daily sometimes.
With such an overwhelming amount of positive data coming to the surface, it seemed only natural for me to transition from only studying the effects of marijuana towards a broader look at the marijuana community.
THC Digest is designed for anyone who wants to plunge themselves into multiple branches of marijuana culture without wasted time in between.
